Making a Scene

Well, I'm at a plateau with my diet. I am at 24 pounds down and haven't lost any in a few weeks, but also haven't gained. I continue to lose inches though. :-)
Weigh-in is next Wednesday at work.
I got a new tattoo on 10/22 at the Portland Tattoo Expo. It was definately a different experience, getting tattooed with a lot of people walking by to watch me cry. It hurt so much! Each tattoo I get represents a family member - this is a perfume bottle with the words "Studio Girl" in ribbon - for my Aunt Abbie. When I was a little girl, she used to bring me old perfume bottles when she visited from California. The company that made the perfume was called "Studio Girl" and she used to tell me stories of how it was what Marilyn Monroe use to wear. I have never actually looked this up, and I won't because I like the memory to much and don't want to know if it's even true.
This picture is the morning after. My plan is to eventually have a full sleeve.
In other news - staying busy with work! hmmm what else...Good Charlotte's new cd Cardiology came out yesterday and I have been listening to it non-stop. It's so good!
I guess that is about it for now.

I've recently started the Atkins diet.
I did this diet (it's not really a diet, it's definately a lifestyle change) 6 years ago and lost 80 pounds, so I have high hopes this time around.
I started August 18-ish and am down 20 pounds, several inches (I don't know how many, I can just feel it in my clothes) and 2 pants sizes! I've cut off all junk food and am working out every morning before work. I feel a lot more energized. I get up at the same time every day, go work out, come home and make my lunch for the day and breakfast, take a shower and get ready for work. I like this routine - I'm not feeling rushed or getting headaches like I used to most mornings.
I started this new way of life as a competition, actually. We have a fair each year at work called the Diversity Fair and they had a health booth with a "wellness plan" competition. Anybody could sign up - they weighed you, measured your BMI and took your blood pressure. They will be back the 1st weekend of November to do another weigh-in and same with BMI and blood pressure. I'm excited to see how I do!
I have wanted to get back on the Atkins lifestyle for a long time now, but couldn't find the motivation I needed. This was my perfect opportunity. I don't like to fail, so I knew once I signed my name on the sheet at work, I would be committed because I want to be the winner and prove that I can do this. :-)
People in my dept at work are starting to notice and it's nice to hear compliments!
Busy October ahead - overtime at work starting next week through the end of the month, mom/moms BF visiting this weekend, grandparents 50th wedding anniversary this weekend, Cookie Lee jewelry part next weekend, tattoo expo with Bri the weekend after that, then Halloween! This is the busiest month I've had all year.
